Out of School Club
Lyndhurst is a privately run out of school care and holiday club for primary school aged children; providing much needed care and support for working parents.
We provide a warm, friendly, professional, home-from-home environment as well as an active range of activities with our team of fully trained & qualified staff.
We also run a wide and varied selection of fun, educational trips in & around East Riding of Yorkshire Area plus many other activities throughout holidays.
We are based within he grounds of Lyndhurst Day Nursery & Pre-School, we provide a drop off/collection service from Pocklington Infant School, Pocklington Junior School and St Mary & Josephs RC School during term time and we are open to children from any other schools during holidays.
Open during at the following times:
BSC – Before School Club 7.30am – 9.00am
ASC – After School Club 3.30pm – 6:00pm
HC – Holiday Club 07.30am – 6:00pm
We offer a number of activities during Before School Club (BSC) and After School Club (ASC) such as arts and crafts, Hama Beads, board games, football, X-Box, PlayStation, Wii, DVD’s, Imaginative Play, Music, Movement & Dance and Outdoor Play.
During the Holiday’s we offer a wide and varied range of fun, educational trips and activities in and around the East Riding of Yorkshire. These include but are not limited to: Museums where we take part in educational workshops, The deep, Hull and Piglets Adventure Farm, York. We do baking, cooking and sometimes even make our own soup, cakes, biscuits or fruit kebabs to eat for our lunch!
KEY WORKERS – Where a member of staff is allocated a group of children to make observations, interact, engage, listen to and support each child’s needs. Key worker groups have been updated this year and all children have now been notified of who their Key Worker staff member is and the updated list is available for parents to see in the cloakroom area.
Week 1: Roald Dahl
Crafts, activities etc. based on different books. Each day a different book. Possibly visit to York Chocolate Story, Fancy dress and of course watch a film or two and a quiz.
Week 2: Healthy/Sporty
A more physical week for the children, this will include different sporting activities and making kebabs and drinks with fruit and veg that have been bought from the market stalls. A visit to the parks in Pocklington will be a must.
Week 3: Science/Messy booms, bangs and fizzes
Messy play to include geli baff, gloop, graffiti painting, shaving foam, soap flakes and much more. Science various experiments, making slime and elephants tooth paste. Building using marshmallows and spaghetti. The children will make a boat and test it out, if it will float, on the beck.
Week 4: Based on TV programme “I’m a celebrity…”
A few Australian crafts, lots of exciting things to try!!! etc.
Making our bug hotel/ bug friendly area and sensory garden along with some crafts to go in there including fairy garden, bug hunt. Some recycling/junk modelling. Grass/cress heads. Decoration for the garden and of course “It’s a bug life” film and popcorn.
Week 6: Children’s choice.
Victorian Day - Don’t forget your mop cap/flat cap. Girly/boyish day – pampering, jewellery making. Footy and play station challenge. Talent show. To end the summer a beach party, limbo dancing, water play etc.
To note: There will be organised trips out to the following: National Railway Museum, York’s Chocolate Factory, Civic Arts Centre, Market Weighton & Hull. Details will follow. (These will be at an additional cost to the parents)
